Using Medical Cannabis

Medical Cannabis can be enjoyed by inhale in two ways: Smoking or Vaping.

Smoking:

Smoking Cannabis is the most popular method to enjoy the flower. Sadly, it’s not the healthiest. Smoking (not vaping) by combustion (burning the cannabis with a lighter) exposes the lungs to carcinogens and tar that could cause irritation and possible cause Chronic Bronchitis. The Positive – Smoking is the fastest option for effective use of Cannabis.

Tools to Smoke:

There are a vast number of smoking accessories on the market that you can enjoy from. This guide will briefly go over the popular options in the market today. However, we encourage you to experiment to find what works best for you.

Roll one Out:

Joints and Blunts are easy to craft once you have a solid handle on rolling skills, and easy to stash way for future enjoyment. Joints and Blunts have minor differences:

Joints:Often rolled with run of the mill rolling paper found at every Gas Station, Corner Store, Head Shop, etc. Rolling Papers can be found in different varieties of flavors, colors, and paper types (rice, hemp, bamboo for example). Rolling Papers come with a paper filter at one end so you don’t burn yourself.

Blunts: These are rolled with Cigar Paper making them larger than Joints, with a Dark Brown color due to the use of the Cigar Paper, and much slower to burn. This method also add nicotine to your cannabis.

Spliffs: The hybrid of cigarette and a Joint. While rolling a joint, you would add loose tobacco to the cannabis to create a craftable mixture.

Handhelds:

Handpipes/waterpipes come in all shapes, sizes, materials such as Glass, Plastic, Silicone, Metal, Bamboo just to name a few. The design and craftsmanship these tools that are favored by many in the Cannabis Community can take shape of the simplistic to the incredibly complex.

Waterpipes:

Waterpipes are nothing more than a filtration device that uses water as the medium to filter all the toxins from the smoke to get the best pull each and every time from your Cannabis. The following are some of the common types of Waterpipes:

Percolator: This type has a suspended filter that disposes all the smoke evenly in the water in smaller bubbles.

Gravity: These use a water created vacuum of pressure to pull air down from the top of the bottle. The vacuum is caused by the water leaving the enclosed space creating a negative air pressure environment in the bottle. In Layman’s terms: water leaves the bottle at a pace quicker than air could get sucked in a fill the volume of the bottle creating an air vacuum. To capitalize on the air vacuum, pack a bowl, light it and place it in the hole at the top of the bottle. Air will pass through the lit bowl creating the smoke to inhale. Just remove the Bowl from the bottle opening and inhale.

Multi-Chamber: Known as a “Recycler” pipe. These filter the smoke through twice in the multiple chambers.

Straight Tube: The simplest design. Fill with water to the opened end of the pipe. The stem/bowl will be poking out on one side for you to add your material. The steps: Fill with some water, pack a bowl, light it and Pull – simple.

Beaker and Rounded: A straight tube with a flared or rounded bottom. These are considered “Daily Drivers” for the simplicity.

Vaping:

Vaporization is the process of smoking Cannabis where the ground material is steadily heated to a temp where the THC/CBD and other Cannabinoids can be extracted be Inhaling. Vaping is considered the healthier alternative then smoking because the ground material the steadily heated to a temp that is below that is needed to release the harmful chemicals, toxins normally inhaled during combustion, while the smoke byproduct has a more mellow scent then combustion. The type of material you want to use will dictate the type of vaporizer you can purchase. The most popular material that vaporizers are shifting towards are concentrates. Concentrates allow Vape Manufactures to shift to a mechanically simple yet sophisticated design.
